Letter to Will Hearn from Tyler's Father
September 14, 2011
When Will Hearn was in First Grade, he and his father, John, began what would become a Memorial Day tradition of placing a flag on the gravesite of Jefferey Steven Blanton at the Marietta National Cemetery.
His eagerness to participate in this particular Boy Scout activity was largely inspired by the life and sacrifice of
LT Tyler Hall Brown, the son of Sally and Carey Brown, the business partner of Will’s father.
Over the next eleven years, Will and his dad would take a picture of Lance Corporal Blanton's marker, and send it to Carey–who Will affectionately calls "Buzz"– with the message “We Remember.”
